It seems that during a radio broadcast last year, French-born, Australia-based new-age composer Ariel Kalma expressed his desire to collaborate with the duo formed by Jeremiah Chiu and Marta Sofia Honer, who had made their debut for International Anthem with Recordings from the Åland Islands just a few months earlier. A year later, the three joined forces and announced their collaborative album, The Closest Thing to Silence, scheduled for release on February 2nd next year through International Anthem. The first single shared is “Écoute Au Loin,” a hypnotic piece that slowly evolves into a Bitchin’ Bajas-like jam and then gracefully transitions into a meditative and jazzy coda.
