Back in 2021, Dead Bandit’s From the Basement was one of the most appreciated albums on this blog, just as Ellis Swann’s solo album 3am was in 2022. Three years later, the Canadian-American duo, comprised of Ellis Swann and James Schimpl, is back with their sophomore album, “Memory Thirteen,” set to be released on February 8th through the independent Italian label based in Florence Quindi Records. The new album will showcase the same sonic palette as their impressive debut but with the addition of softer tones occasionally leaning towards dream-pop, and darker and meditative tones more akin to the solo work of Ellis Swann, as demonstrated by the first single, ‘Staircase.’
